Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 25, 2026

PillCaddy is built by Openroad Apps LLC. We take your privacy seriously and want you to feel confident using our app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it safe. We wrote it in plain language because we believe you shouldn’t need a law degree to understand how your data is handled.

What information we collect

When you create a PillCaddy account, we collect your name and email address. That’s it for personal information.

As you use the app, you enter information about medications, including medication names, dosages, schedules, and dose logs. You may also add household members and pets along with their medication information.

We also collect basic usage data such as device type and app version to help us fix bugs and improve the experience.

How we use your information

We use your information to make PillCaddy work for you. Specifically, we use it to:

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your data. Ever.

How we store and protect your information

Your medication data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud database provider. Supabase uses encryption in transit and at rest to protect your information. Your account is protected by your login credentials, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

While no system is perfectly secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your data and regularly review our security practices.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We only share data with the following service providers, and only what is necessary for them to do their job:

Supabase hosts our database. Your account information and medication data is stored on their servers. They act as a data processor on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy and security policies.

Anthropic powers our AI chat feature through their Claude API. When you use the AI assistant to set up a medication schedule or ask for help, we send only the medication schedule description to Anthropic. No personally identifiable information such as your name, email, or the names of household members is sent to Anthropic.

Household data

PillCaddy is designed for households. You may enter medication information for other people in your household, including children, elderly family members, and pets. By entering this information, you confirm that you have the right to manage medications for those household members and that you are responsible for the accuracy of that data.

All household data is stored in your account and is visible to anyone who has access to your account or who is part of your household within the app.

Children’s privacy

PillCaddy is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Parents and guardians may use PillCaddy to track medications for their children, but the account itself should be created and managed by an adult.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it promptly. If you believe this has happened, please contact us at support@pillcaddy.app.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time. You can update your name and email directly in the app. If you want to delete your account and all associated data, contact us at support@pillcaddy.app and we will process your request promptly.

If you are located in the European Union, California, or another jurisdiction with specific data protection laws, you may have additional rights. Please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Data retention

We retain your account and medication data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your data from our systems within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
